日本語版のWebsiteに、「AWS の最新情報」「最新のクラウドコンピューティングサービス、特徴量、リージョン拡大についての最新情報を入手できます」と記載がされているように、主に英語で発信されるAWSの公式ブログで、サービスの変更点やイベント/ウェビナーの情報などがリアルタイムで発表されます。
この記事を書き始めたラスベガス時間 2025/12/01 1:00頃の時点で、2025年は2118件のアップデートがあります。
Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAPのアップデート件数と内訳
ついにAWS re:Invent 2025がスタートしました。12/01から12/05まで開催されていますので、これまでのAmazon FSx for NetApp ONTAPのアップデート件数と内訳を振り返り、「新発表があるのか？」「これまでどんなアップデートがあったのか？」をワクワクしながら待つための一助になればと思います。

直近のアップデート：2025年下半期
- IPv6のサポート：2025/09/30 他のAWSサービス同様に、IPv6に対応しました。これで、IPv6での利用が必要な方も利用可能に
- 第二世代のFSx fo ONTAPの対応リージョンの拡大と、SSDの縮小対応：FSx for ONTAPにより、容量あるいはパフォーマンスでのスケーラビリティーを必要とする場合に、第二世代のFSx for ONTAPを利用可能なリージョンが増え、デプロイ後にSSDの容量の縮小が可能に
- FSx for ONTAPのSVMとFSx for Windowsのファイルシステム単位で、Active Directoryドメインサービスアカウントの認証情報置き場としてAWS Secremt Managerが利用可能に これまでは、Amazon FSx コンソール、Amazon FSx API、AWS CLI、または AWS CloudFormation でサービスアカウントのユーザー名とパスワードを指定する必要がありました。今回のリリースにより、サービスアカウントの認証情報が格納された AWS Secrets Manager シークレットを指定できるように
まとめ
Amazon FSx for NetAppのこれまでのアップデートを振り返ってみましたが、いかがでしょうか？
個人的には、サービスリリース直後から今日まで様々な関わり方をしてきたので、一つ一つのアップデートに対して、喜ぶ方の顔が浮かんで感慨深かったです。
また、振り返ることによって、「この機能改善要望を出しておいてよかった」「もっと早く、温度感高く伝えておけばよかった」という気づきや反省も見えましたので、今後の改善に繋げていきたいと思います。
今は、ラスベガスで多くのAWSユーザー、パートナーの方々といますので、「直近でAmazon FSx for NetApp ONTAPに関するどんな機能発表があるのか」に加えて、「どんな課題にぶつかってきたのか？」「それをどう解決して来たのか？」「利用されている方々がどんな体験をして、どんな想いを抱いているのか？」を聞いて、学んで、ビルダーとして自ら手を動かしていきたいと考えています。
